CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY
Silver jewellery will stay looking pristine for longer if you follow a few guidelines.
-
Silver does not like strong chemicals, such as perfume, lotions, some make-up and cleaning products, and exposure to these may tarnish or discolour your jewellery, try to avoid direct contact with these if possible.
-
Chlorine and bleach in particular can discolour your jewellery leaving it black or with black patches, so it’s a good idea to remove your jewellery before you have a swim.
-
When not being worn, keep your jewellery in an airtight jewellery box or container.
-
Avoid wearing your jewellery whilst doing vigorous exercise, or when sleeping, to minimise heavy wear which may spoil the finish and appearance of your jewellery, especially if it contains softer gemstones such as moonstone or opal.
-
Silver and gold are soft metals and will develop a natural patina over time and with wear, which can add to the beauty, but following these guidelines will prolong the polished surfaces for longer.
